The drive to Duong Lam will take about 1.5 hours through the scenic Red River Delta countryside. 9:30 AM – Arrive at Duong Lam Ancient Village • Upon arrival, take a moment to appreciate the traditional village setting with old laterite brick houses, narrow alleys, and a quiet, rustic atmosphere. • You can rent a bicycle to explore the village if you want to enjoy a more leisurely and immersive experience. 9:45 AM – Visit the Mong Phu Village Gate • Start your visit at the Mong Phu Village Gate, a well-preserved structure that serves as the entrance to the ancient village. It’s the only village gate in the area that remains intact after centuries. • Just behind the gate is the Mong Phu Communal House, an important place for villagers to gather during festivals and events. 10:15 AM – Explore Traditional Houses • Visit some of the traditional houses in Duong Lam, which are over 300 years old. The pagoda houses over 287 statues, including famous sculptures like the statue of Buddha in the Himalayas and the “Eight Vajra Kings.” • Spend around 45 minutes exploring the pagoda and learning about its spiritual significance. 12:15 PM – Lunch at a Local Restaurant • Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in the village.
